Answer: Licorice
I knew this one was coming. Alright, here's the down and dirty truth:
Candy corn is disgusting.
Truth be told, I'm not much of a licorice fan. But it's the (far) lesser of two evils.
Candy corn is unique as a pinnacle of unpalatable food traits. The flavor is bland and heavily-processed. The consistency is chalky and difficult to dislodge from behind teeth, braces, etc. It has an aftertaste that isn't easily washed away, even by the best in name-brand chocolates or sodas.
Licorice? Who cares. Death to candy corn.
I'm furious that we're so predictable. I'll make sure we get some more surprising scenarios in November. - Chris
