Imagine the looks you'd get walking down the street with a gentle pachyderm following you around. Elephants are intelligent and emotional creatures that form strong bonds with their companions. The downside is that they never forget anything. That time you tripped and fell in front of my crush? The elephant remembers. That embarrassing
story I told at a party? Crystal clear in the elephant's mind. It's like having a living, breathing archive of all my most cringe-worthy moments.
A pet monkey that can talk sounds like a dream come true.
Who wouldn't want a witty, conversational companion? That's great when and all, but a close friend that never stops gossiping about me to other animals is a worry I don't need. I'd never be able to show my face at the zoo again.
So, which would you choose? I think I'd go with the pet elephant. Sure, it might be a bit awkward at times, but at least I wouldn't constantly have to worry about my good name.
